Description:
Just A Penny takes place in a theater in the moments just prior to the opening of a new show. The Director knows she’s got to keep it all together. Vera, a relatively big-time producer, is coming to see the show and determine whether it has promise. As a crowd gathers in the lobby, the crew works to address a hum in the sound system, a glitch in the lights, and an ailing band member. During this time flashbacks illustrate how the Director met and recruited these top notch backstage talents, each of whom has an inspiring backstory. When all is ready for the opening, the Director sings, “I Love this Moment”, before the curtain parts, before the drum roll starts.
